Your morning begins on the scenic San Juan Skyway, covering two mountain passes with stunning views of the San Juan mountains on your way towards the town of Silverton. From Silverton we continue up the headwaters of the Animas River, and other small tributaries. Wet wading the high country of Colorado is an unforgettable experience. Chase brook and cutthroat trout on light three weights and dry flies at 10,000 feet above sea level. A day in this spectacular setting sets the bar pretty high for all trips that follow!
“Some of my favorite type of fishing is fly fishing with Jeremy up in the creeks in the high country. Most of those fish have never seen people or a fly before. I can float down a river anywhere in the country. However, when I'm up in the high country, with Heads Up, fishing the pools and being in nature there is nothing like it. Plus, dry flys are my favorite and that is the best part...those fish love them!!! If you're looking for some real "river runs through it" type fly fishing, hit up the high country creeks with Jeremy.”
